Adding Reports to CV Online

Adding reports to CV Online allows you to view reports quickly and efficiently. Read on to learn how to move reports from ClearVantage to ClearVantage Online.

1. Where are Reports Stored?

There are multiple locations where reports are stored in CV Online. One location for reports is in the Main Menu, under Reports. Here you can see our different category options, which include Membership, Events, Products, Subscriptions and Dues, Marketing, Financial, Administrative and Exports.

2. Adding Reports to CV Online’s Reports Menu

To add reports to the Reports menu, open CV desktop. Reports stored in the main menu dropdown in CV Online are stored in Information Central. In this database, Information Central is under Report.

Click on Information Central. Next, go to Elements Reports folder, and then click on the “All” folder.

You can drag any reports that you’d like to make available in CV Online into this folder. If these folders don’t exist in your database, you can create them using the exact folder names and locations shown here. Make sure to first make a copy of the report you'd like to add to the CV Online reports menu if you'd still like the report to be accessible in CV Desktop.
Let’s say that you’d like to make the “Donations by Campaign” report available in the main menu of CV Online. This report is currently stored in the Donations folder. Go to the Donations folder.

Make a copy of the report.
Highlight the report and click on Shift.
Drag the report to the “Elements Reports-All” folder.

Right-click on the report that you’d like to add to CV Online and go to Properties.

Go to the Advanced tab. You’ll notice that the appropriate drop-down, aka where the report will be stored in CV Online, will appear on the right-hand side.

If you’d like to add the report to the “Export” section, set the property value to 99 rather than selecting an option from the dropdown. Click on “Ok.”

Lastly, return to the report and right-click. Click on “Subscribe Users.”

You can choose to subscribe all users to this report, or you can make the report visible to certain individuals only.

Return to CV Online and refresh your browser. You’ll notice that the report that we just added is now available.

3. Adding Reports to CV Online’s Individual or Organization Notebook

Another common place that reports are stored in CV Online is in Individual or Organization notebooks. If we go to an Individual profile, we’ll see the Reports drop-down menu.

Return to CV. To get a report into a profile, return to Information Central.

Go to the System Reports folder. Below, you’ll see choices for Customer Notebook reports, Organization Notebook Reports, Event Notebook Reports, and more.

Let’s say that we want a report in the Customer Notebook report section in CV Online. Drag the report you’d like to add to the Customer Notebook Reports folder.
