Notebook Dashboards
Overview
Notebook Dashboards are a powerful tool for data visualization and analysis. They allow users to create custom dashboards on six notebooks in ClearVantage: Individual, Organization, Events, Product, Committee, and Chapter notebooks.
These dashboards can be customized to display specific data and metrics relevant to each notebook. For example, in an Organization notebook, the dashboard might display key performance indicators for the organization, while in an Events notebook, it might show data related to event attendance and feedback.
This flexibility allows users to tailor their dashboards to their specific needs and objectives, providing a clear and concise view of the data that matters most to them. It’s a great way to make data more accessible and actionable.
Notebook dashboards use gadgets to create these custom dashboards. These gadgets can be of various types such as graph, table view, and pivot table. Each type of gadget serves a unique purpose:

Graph: These are visual representations of data. They can be used to identify patterns, trends, and insights quickly and efficiently.

Table view: These are structured sets of data. They make it easy to organize and analyze large amounts of information.

Pivot Tables: These are powerful data summarization tools. They can automatically sort, count, total or average the data stored in one table or spreadsheet, displaying the results in a second table showing the summarized data.
How to Enable Notebook Dashboards
Notebook dashboards can be enabled in any of the six notebooks mentioned: Individual, Organization, Events, Product, Committee, and Chapter. This can be done in the standard Edit Layout interface, which can be accessed from the Activities Button/Panel. Three new tab options have been added for each applicable notebook type (e.g. "Member Dashboard 1-3" on the individual notebook).
Enabling a dashboard by checking the associated checkbox will make it visible to the role associated with the user adding the notebook. This allows for customized views and access to information based on the specific role. It’s a great way to ensure that everyone has access to the information they need.
When enabling a dashboard one can specify a condition for the dashboard to be visible, you can create dynamic dashboards that change based on certain parameters. For example, if the display parameter to ISMEMBERFLG=Y, the dashboard will only be visible in the notebook if ismemberflg is set to Y.
If no display parameters are provided, the dashboard will appear on all notebooks.
The full range of supported display parameters are described below:

Additionally, more than one display parameter may be provided. When providing more than one, simply separate each display parameter with a comma, not leaving any spaces before or after the comma for example:

The above display parameter will display the notebook dashboard on events with the CONFERENCE program that also have a start date in the future or no more than 365 days in the past.
How to Configure Notebook Dashboards
Once the dashboard is enabled, adding widgets to it follows the same process as for existing custom dashboards, the ‘Add Widget’ icon in the upper right corner of the dashboard.
When reviewing the list of snapshots, table views, and pivot tables to add, a green tag ‘Filterable for this notebook’ will appear next to the widget indicating that it is filterable on the notebook currently being configured. This visual cue makes it easy to identify which widgets can be filtered in the dashboard being configured.
Additionally, each gadget will indicate its filter status in a comment at the bottom, providing further clarity on the record that the gadget is filtered for, and describing the data displayed.
List of Widgets/Gadgets Available
Most clients will have received baseline gadgets compatible with notebook dashboards as part of their regular CV updates. These gadgets are described below for reference. Additional gadgets may become available in future updates.
