Shared List Manager

This guide is only applicable to enterprise clients using CV Pro or CV9.
Using the Shared List Manager
The Shared List Manager allows you to create and share Predefined Lists as well as Gadgets that appear on the ClearVantage Dashboard.
Add Users to a Shared List
From on the “Pro Tools” menu in the upper right corner of ClearVantage Pro:

Select the Shared List Manager to open a Manage Shared Lists window.

From the Manage Shared Lists window, click the Shared List you wish to share with additional ClearVantage users.

Once highlighted, users with access to the Predefined List will appear in the List Subscribers area at the bottom of the Manage Shared Lists window.

Click “Add User” and a blank field will appear under User CD.

Click on the blank field and select the ClearVantage user you wish to add as a subscriber to the Predefined List.

Check the “HomePage Own Group?” box if you want a Chart to appear in a separate panel on the user’s dashboard.

Click “OK”. Your changes to the subscriber list will now be saved and the user selected will now have access to the selected list.
Remove Users from a Shared List

From the Manage Shared List window, click to highlight the Shared List from which you wish to remove a ClearVantage subscriber.

Once highlighted, all active List Subscribers will display in the List Subscribers area at the bottom of the Manage Shared Lists window.

From the List Subscribers area, highlight the ClearVantage user whose access to the list you wish to remove.

Click “Remove User”.

Click “OK”. Your changes will now be saved.
Adding Shared Lists & Gadgets to All Users
You can automatically place Shared Lists, Reports, Web Links, Charts, Table Views, and Pivot Tables onto the ClearVantage Dashboards of all users at once in the Shared List Manager. Once you add the gadget or shared list to All users, you will no longer be able to add individual users to the gadget or shared list.
From on the “Pro Tools” menu in the upper right corner of ClearVantage Pro:

Select the Shared List Manager button and open the Shared List Manager.

From the Manage Shared Lists window, click to highlight the Predefined List you wish to share with all ClearVantage users.

Once highlighted, those with access to the list will appear under User CD.

Click “Add for ALL Users” and the user (ALL) will appear under the List Subscribers. Only if you are a system administrator will you be able to check the “HomePage Own Group?” box.

Click the “OK” button to save and close the Manage Shared Lists window. All ClearVantage Users can now access this Shared List.
Create Predefined Lists from a SQL Statement
You can create a Predefined List from a SQL statement and share that list with other users.
To create a Predefined List from a SQL statement, from on the “Pro Tools” menu in the upper right corner of ClearVantage Pro:

Select Shared List Manager and open the Shared List Manager. Click the “New shared list” button this will add a new row to the Shared Lists which is automatically assigned a List ID and the Created By field is populated with your User CD.

Select the type of list you wish to create from the dropdown in the Category column. The types of shared lists are:

INDLIST: Use to create a list of Individual records.

ORGLST: Use to create a list of Organization records.
-
PAYLIST: Use to create a list of Payments.
-
INVLIST: Use to create a list of Invoices.
-
PRDLIST: Use to create a list of Products.
-
EVTLIST: Use to create a list of Events.
-
CTMSTRLIST: Use to create a list of Master Certifications.

Enter a Title for the list. The title will appear in the My Lists menus and in the Lists dropdown for that particular list.

Click on the dropdown in the Query String column to open a blank field.

Either type or paste your SQL statement into the text field.

Click “OK” in the Query String column to save the SQL statement.

Add any users to the List Subscribers section who should have access to the list. Note that your User CD is not automatically added.

Click “OK” to save the new Predefined List and close the Manage Shared Lists window.
Remove Shared Lists and Gadgets
You can remove shared lists to reduce the number of lists in your Shared List Manager, replace them with updated lists and gadgets, or remove Web Links.
From on the “Pro Tools” menu in the upper right corner of ClearVantage Pro:

Select the “Shared List Manager” button and open the Manage Shared List window. Click to highlight the Predefined List you wish to remove from ClearVantage.

Once highlighted, click on the “Delete Shared List” button.

Users may need to log out of ClearVantage and login again before the change takes place for their user record.
Creating Gadgets for the ClearVantage Dashboard
Reports, Charts, Table Views, and Pivot Tables that are available on a user’s ClearVantage Dashboard are created in the Shared List Manager and can be shared with any group of ClearVantage users. Creating Reports and Charts may require some basic knowledge of SQL and you should contact Euclid for additional assistance if needed.
From on the “Pro Tools” menu in the upper right corner of ClearVantage Pro:

Click on Shared List Manager and open the Manage Shared List window. Click the “New Gadget” button and the ClearVantage Gadget Builder window will open.

From the “Select Gadget Type” dropdown menu, select the appropriate category:

Table View: Creates a table displaying data.
-
Pivot View: Creates a pivot table allowing data comparisons.
-
Graph (Line): Creates a line graph of the data in the Chart panel of the ClearVantage Dashboard.
-
Graph (Hor Bar): Creates a horizontal bar graph of the data in the Chart panel of the ClearVantage Dashboard.
-
Graph Pie: Creates a pie chart of the data in the Chart panel of the ClearVantage Dashboard.
-
Graph (Ver Bar): Creates a vertical bar graph of the data in the Chart panel of the ClearVantage Dashboard.
-
Graph (Area): Creates an area graph of the data in the Chart panel of the ClearVantage Dashboard.
-
Graph (Point): Creates a point plot of the data in the Chart panel of the ClearVantage Dashboard.
-
Graph (Circular Gauge): Creates a circular gauge graphic of the data in the Chart panel of the ClearVantage Dashboard.
-
Graph (Number Gauge): Creates a numeric display of the data in the Chart panel of the ClearVantage Dashboard.

CVXRREPORT: Creates a list of reports that opens in the ClearVantage Report Viewer. Your query must contain the Item_ID from the REPORTDB table as this field will be the link to open the report in the Report Viewer.

IMAGEPANEL: Creates a rotating list of images on the Image panel of the ClearVantage Dashboard. See the section on creating a gadget for the Image Panel for detailed instructions.

Enter a title for the gadget.

Check the “Publicly Available?” checkbox in order to provide other ClearVantage Users with the ability to access the gadget through the Dashboard Gadgets window.

If you have an existing SQL statement:
-
Enter your SQL statement in the text box.
-
Click “Save Gadget” to return to the Shared List Manager.

If you do not have an existing SQL statement:
- Click the “Build Query” button to create your SQL statement and a Build Query window will open.

Add and join any tables that you want to include in your gadget.
-
Select and filter the fields you wish to include in your gadget.
-
Filter by fields and hide them so that they do not display on the dashboard.
-
Click the lightning bolt button to run the query.
-
“Select File” | “Close” to close the Build Query window. Do not click the “x” in the upper-right corner. The SQL statement will be populated.

Click on the “Preview” button to preview the data available.
-
You can drag and drop fields from the “Fields Available” to the “Summary Footer”, “Counter Footer”, or “Average Footer” boxes to add these footers.

Click the “Save Gadget” button to return to the Shared List Manager.

Create any custom formatting you would like by entering the following statements into the Format String field. Each statement should be separated with a comma and no spaces.

LEGENDSHOW=N: Does not display a legend on the graph. Set to “Y” to display the legend.
-
MARKSSHOW=Y: Displays data labels at points on the graph. Set to “N” to not display the data labels.
-
MARKSTYLE=VALUE: Displays the value of the point in the data label at points on the graph.
-
SERIESCOLOR=GREEN: Indicates the color of the graph. You can also set to “RED”, “YELLOW”, or “BLUE”.

Enter a description for the report or chart.

Click the green check mark to save your report or chart.
-
Add any users, including yourself, who should have access to this report or chart if you have not marked it as publicly available.

Click “OK” when you are done.
Editing Dashboard Gadgets
To edit a dashboard gadget, from on the Pro Tools Menu in the upper right corner of ClearVantage Pro:

Select the Shared List Manager and open the Manage Shared List window.

Highlight the gadget you wish to edit and click the “Edit Gadget” button.

Alternatively, you can click on the dropdown arrow in the Query String column and a text box will open.

You can edit the SQL statement in the text box and click “OK” when you are done.
Creating Image Panel Gadgets
To create a gadget for the Image Panel, from on the Pro Tools Menu in the upper right corner of ClearVantage Pro:

Select the Shared List Manager and open the Manage Shared List window. Click the “New shared list” button this will add a new row to the Shared Lists which is automatically assigned a “List ID” and the “Created By” field is populated with your User CD.

Select “IMAGEPANEL” from the dropdown in the Category column.

Enter a “Title” for the panel. The title will appear as the name of the panel on the ClearVantage Dashboard.

Click on the dropdown in the Query String column to open a blank field.

Either type or paste your SQL statement into the text field. The query should use the following format and the labels (ENTITYTYPE, ENTITYCD, TEXT1, TEXT2, TEXT3, TEXT4 and IMAGE) should remain the same for all queries. You can edit which data fields you want to use for the text labels but either the CustomerCD for Individuals or the OrgCD for Organizations must be included to link to the record.

Click “OK” in the Query String column to save the SQL statement.

PANELCOLOR=$20666666: Sets the background color of the panel using an aRGB color code.

TEXTCOLOR=$20666666: Sets the text color of the panel using an aRGB color code.

PANELLAYOUT: Sets whether the image appears on the left or right of the panel. Options are IMAGELEFT and IMAGERIGHT.

DISPLAYTIME: Sets the number of seconds each record will display before scrolling to the next record.

SCROLL: Sets the type of scroll motion. Options include amScrollLeft, amScrollRight, amScrollUp, and amScrollDown.

Add any users to the List Subscribers section who should have access to the list. Note that your User CD is not automatically added.

Click “OK” to save the new Predefined List and close the Manage Shared Lists window.
