Edit an Event Floorplan
The event floorplan editor allows you to arrange the booths you wish to sell to customers on your event’s floorplan image. You can adjust the position or dimensions of one or more booths using your keyboard or the editor tools on the right side of the window. You are also able to add new booths to the floorplan and restore existing booths that are not currently being used on the floorplan.
Booth Selection
A selected booth will be red, and a non-selected booth will be blue. You can select a booth by clicking on it and the color will change from blue to red indicating that it has been selected. Once one booth is selected, you can select another booth by clicking on a non-selected booth.
To select many booths at once you can press the CTRL key and click and drag your mouse (from left to right). A dashed box will show that will select all the booths that are inside of the box.
To deselect a single booth, you can click on it again and the color will change from red to blue indicating that it has been deselected. To deselect all selected booths, you can use the clear selection button (see image below) in the editor tools, or you can use the “ESC” key on your keyboard. You can also click anywhere on the floorplan that is not a booth to deselect all selected booths.
Booth Position
There are two ways to update the position of a booth on the floorplan. You can update the position of a booth by using your keyboard arrows or by using the X and Y fields in the editor tools on the right side of the window. To update the position using the X and Y fields:
-
Select the booth that you would like to arrange, and the position of the booth will show in the X and Y fields.
-
Edit the values of X and Y to change the position of the booth by using the X and Y number fields. While your cursor is active in either the X or Y number field, you can use the up or down keys to move the value of the coordinates up or down. You can also press the SHIFT key while pressing the up and down arrows to advance the value of the field by 10 pixels.
Note
You can only set the position of one booth at a time using the X and Y number fields in the editor tools.
You can align booths by using the “Align Horizontally” (button A on image below) and “Align Vertically” (button B on image below) buttons.
Booth Dimensions
There are two ways to update the dimensions of one or more booths at a time. You can use the W, S, A, and D keys or the numbers 8, 2, 6, and 4 on the number pad of your keyboard. You can also update the dimensions of one or more booths by using the W and L fields in the editor tools on the right side of the window.
-
Select the booth or booths that you would like to change the dimensions to. The W and L fields will have the width and length of the last selected booth.
-
Use the W field to change the width and the L field to change the length of the booth. While your cursor is active in either the W or L number field, you can use the up or down keys to move the value of the width or length up or down. You can also press the SHIFT key while pressing the up and down arrows to advance the value of the field by 10 pixels.
Booth Rotation
You can rotate one or more booths at a time using the R field in the editor tools on the right side of the window. Use the rotation functionality to match the booth to the floorplan image.
Add New Booths
You can add one or more new booths by using the “Add Booth(s)” button in the editor tools.
-
First, enter the number of booths you want to create. For example, if you want to create only 1 booth, enter the number 1.
-
The “Booth Code Start Number” is going to be the code of the first booth that get created and from there, the rest of the booths will have the incremental code. If we are creating 3 new booths and the “Booth Code Start Number” is 1231 the resulting booth codes would be: 1231, 1232, 1233.
Note
You can choose to add a padding of zeros to the booth code if your booth number is less than 4 characters long.
Remove and Restore Booths
If you wish to remove booths from the floorplan because you no longer want to show them or because you are no longer using them, you can do so by selecting the booths that you wish to remove and clicking on the “Remove Booth(s)” button in the editor tools or using the “DEL” key on your keyboard.
Note
The booth record will not be removed from the event and will still exist in the booths list.
To restore booths and bring them back to the floorplan, click on the “Restore Booth(s)” button in the editor tools. You can select the booths that you wish to restore from the booth list shown and click on the “Add” button to add them back to the floorplan.
Rename a Booth
To rename a booth, double-click on the booth you wish to rename. Enter a new booth code that consists of only numbers and/or letters. Click “Update” when done and the booth code will be updated on the floorplan and the booth record.
Find a Booth
To find a booth on the floorplan, use the “Find Booth” button (see image below) in the editor tools. Enter the booth code you are looking for. If the booth is on the floorplan, the booth will be selected for you and be of color red.
Booths’ Display
If you want to view the floorplan on its own, without having the booths on top of the floorplan image, use the “Toggle Booths Display” button (see image below) in the editor tools. This will hide the booths so that you may view the floorplan only. To show the booths again, click on the “Toggle Booths Display” button again.
